Mint Julep & Bananas Foster

What You Need — For the Mint Julep
4 – 5 mint sprigs
1/2 ounce simple syrup
2 and 1/2 ounces bourbon/rum
Crushed ice
What You Need — For the Bananas Foster
1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
3 bananas
3 tablespoons dark rum
Lemon
Vanilla wafers/whipped cream (optional)
What You Do — For the Mint Julep
Muddle mint with sugar syrup.
Top with crushed ice.
Add in bourbon.
What You Do — For the Bananas Foster
Make pudding according to box directions. Let set in fridge.
Melt butter and brown sugar together over medium heat until combined.
Add in cinnamon, vanilla, and sliced bananas. Cook for 2 – 3 minutes.
Remove from heat source, carefully add in liquor and then return over low heat to burn off alcohol.
Season to taste with lemon juice, zest, and/or salt.
Let bananas cool slightly and then layer in a dish with pudding, vanilla wafers, and whipped cream.
