Heart Breakfast Pastries

Start your morning with these delightful Heart Breakfast Pastries, filled with a sweet and creamy strawberry filling and topped with fresh strawberries. These pastries are perfect for a special breakfast or brunch, adding a touch of love and sweetness to your day. Chefleen Says: Make these all year long, just cut into rectangles.

What You Need —

1 (8.6 ounces) sheet puff pastry

2 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 and 1/2 tablespoons strawberry jam

1 drop red food coloring (optional)

2/3 cup very small diced strawberries

1 large egg

Powdered sugar, for dusting

What You Do —

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Dice about 8 strawberries, set aside in a bowl.

  3. Mix together cream cheese and jam. Stir until combined. Add food coloring if desired for slightly more color.

  4. Roll out defrosted puff pastry and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.

  5. Score the inside of the hearts.

  6. Take the tiniest spoon in your kitchen and add filling inside the scoring.

  7. Top with strawberries.

  8. Brush pastry with egg wash to help get more golden brown. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes until puff pastry is cooked all the way through.

  9. Dust with powdered sugar.
