Too hot and you kill the yeast; too cold and it will not be activated.
What You Need —
2 and 3/4 cups flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 pack of yeast
3 teaspoons Italian seasoning mix
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 – 3 cups tomato sauce
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
1 – 2 cups mozzarella cheese
Pepperoni or any additional toppings
What You Do —
Mix 1 cup of warm water with the yeast and sugar. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes until the yeast is bubbly.
Add in the olive oil and Italian seasoning mix. Stir to combine.
Slowly add in the flour little by little, using a spoon at first. Add in the salt once you have added half of the flour.
Once the dough comes together into a ball, place it on a floured surface and knead for 5 to 7 minutes until the dough is smooth.
Place the dough ball into an oiled bowl and cover with a damp paper towel. Let rise for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours, or overnight in the fridge.
Oil a baking sheet and press out the dough into the desired shape.
Top with tomato sauce, cheese, and desired toppings.
Bake at 425°F for 15 to 20 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
